ABUJA, Nigeria — The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has officially opened applications for its 2027 Professional Immersion Program, offering young graduates across the region an opportunity to gain practical experience within one of Africa’s leading regional organizations.
According to an official announcement from ECOWAS, applications for the one-year, paid program opened on July 31, 2026, and will remain open until August 31, 2026. The initiative is designed to provide recent graduates with hands-on professional experience while exposing them to the day-to-day operations of ECOWAS institutions and regional policymaking.
The program is open to qualified young graduates from ECOWAS member states who meet the eligibility requirements, including an age limit that generally does not exceed 32 years at the time of application. Successful applicants will spend one year working within various ECOWAS departments and agencies, where they will develop professional skills, gain practical knowledge of regional governance, and contribute to projects supporting West Africa’s economic and social development.
ECOWAS said the Professional Immersion Program is part of its broader commitment to investing in the next generation of West African professionals and strengthening institutional capacity across the region.
