Bodies of seven people, including two missing teenagers and a convicted sex offender, were discovered on a rural Oklahoma property on Monday, according to the local sheriff’s office. The bodies were found during a search near the town of Henryetta, located about 90 miles east of Oklahoma City.
Okmulgee County Sheriff Eddy Rice said the bodies were believed to include those of 14-year-old Ivy Webster and 16-year-old Brittany Brewer, along with Jesse McFadden, the felon authorities had said the teens were traveling with. The state medical examiner will confirm the victims’ identities, but authorities believe they have found the persons they were searching for.
“We are no longer looking,” Rice said. “We believe to have found everything that we were seeking this morning. Our hearts go out to the families, friends, schoolmates, and everyone else.”
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol had issued a missing endangered person advisory for the two teenagers before it was canceled Monday afternoon. The advisory had said they were reportedly seen traveling with McFadden, who was on the state’s sex offender registry. Oklahoma Department of Corrections prison records show McFadden was convicted of first-degree rape in 2003 and released in October 2020.
Sheriff Rice declined to provide details of how the victims died or other details surrounding the case. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office.
The discovery of the bodies has sent shockwaves throughout the community, and residents are mourning the loss of the victims. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
